I enjoyed the First Look at this book. Mallory seems to have a lot going on and several complications in her life that have led her astray from her dreams, but putting her toe back into the chess world appears to be the first step in changing that. The characters introduced so far are interesting and I can't wait to find out how they all play into Mallory's life. The hint of a (likely complicated) romance between Mallory and Nolan would make this an entertaining read. Having read a few other books from this author, I hope that this will be another smart, funny romance. My teenage daughter also enjoys books by Ali Hazelwood and the fact that this is a YA romance will appeal to her too.
The cover is attractive and appropriate to the book, and would definitely catch my attention when looking for a new read.
