Ali Hazelwood has this ability to write with a sense of humor that hops of the page. She's done it in her other novels, and this one is no different. Although, as I understand it, this is a young adult novel and I couldn't be more excited to see what she does with the genre. The premise of Check & Mate is super cute and unique and still has Hazelwood's clever wit permeating throughout the page. The charm is there and is full of delightful characters and a snappy plot. I look forward to adding this to my TBR pile!
