Ok, so Cassie Clare’s worlds are riveting! This story was absolutely no different. All of the Shadowhunter’s books tie together, so these characters were already familiar yet wholly new at the same time. This book is set after the Infernal Devices series, so getting to see old favorites make cameos was lovely and like a hug.
Cordelia is such a fun new lead. She is learning about life and experiencing the world so much differently than the characters in prior series. We once again fall into a love triangle of mystery and magic. I love the way that Clare weaves in a story of women empowerment with the expected demon fighting goodness.
The story is written so well and is so fun to read. It is very YA in style, but that didn’t stop me from absolutely devouring it as an adult. This is a quick fun story that leaves you itching for more. Good thing this is a trilogy!
