Cassandra Clare has done it again. Ripped my heart out, torn it up, and stitched it back together again.
Chair of Irons was almost everything I needed it to be. The ending, as usual, killed me and I am (im)patiently waiting for Chain of Thorns.
The character development continued to expand in ways that were respectful to the characters, but also the community those characters represent. Clare puts thought and effort into bringing representation to the forefront of the book without making the story only about that.
There are so many sides to her characters, but they all ring true. How the characters interacted with each other during this story is going to lead for a thrilling next book.
I felt the plot moved as a great pace. There were one or two moments where I felt like maybe it was dragged out just a bit longer, but it could also be that I was just impatient to find out how the book ends.
