I really love Cassandra Clares writing and am a huge fan of the mortal instruments series so I was really excited to see another series by Clare set in the shadow hunters universe! The first thing that really struck me about this book however was that it was told from a wildly different perspective. While clary fray (from the mortal instruments) grew up thinking she was a normal girl and wa s then thrust into the world of the shadow hunters, lucie herondale grew up knowing exactly who she was. Even going so far as telling another creature very early on how important her family was while convincing him to help her. A very interesting start to this series and I am extremely interested to see where it goes next! The wait for the next book in this series actually convinced me to go back and reread city of bones so at least I have that to hold me over until then!
