This book is a great new addition to the universe of The Shadowhunter Chronicles. There are plenty of characters who come from families that longtime readers of the series will know and love, but I would recommend this book to new and established readers alike. I really enjoyed Cordelia's character, and seeing Will and Tessa around again was really enjoyable and fun. The atmosphere is very well done and it's interesting to see the direction Cassandra Clare is planning on taking her worldbuilding and universe in for this series and other trilogies that will be coming out in the future. I really enjoyed the setting and choice of time period, this was not something that I was initially expecting from her, but I was so excited to see more characters that belong to the Lightwood and Carstairs families as well as some less popular families.
