The latest installment in the Shadowhunter Chronicles

As a prolific reader, I'm honestly surprised that I had never gotten around to reading a Cassandra Clare novel before. I know she is very well-regarded within the YA community, but I just never felt like there was the right opportunity or moment to pick up one of her books. Well, better late than never I suppose. Chain of Gold is the latest installment in the Shadowhunter Chronicles. As someone without any background knowledge of the earlier books, I was a bit apprehensive about diving in media res, so to speak. However, I think the first few chapters do a great job of capturing Clare's fantasy world and moving the plot forward without being too expository. I am enjoying Chain of Gold so far and am interested to see where the story goes.
