Perfect start to this latest installment in the Shadowhunters World

Cassandra Clare's "The Mortal Instruments" trilogy was my gateway into YA fantasy novels and she remains a steadfast favorite. "The Infernal Devices" Clockwork series is often considered, correctly, in my opinion, the strongest of her Shadowhunters series. This new novel takes us back to late 1800s London and revisits the Herondale and Carstairs' families but with the next generation taking the lead of the stories and Will, Tessa and Jem relegated to roles as the parents and uncle. While Clare has her formula for all the Shadowhunter books very firmly established, and thus far this seems to be toeing that line, I was completely enamored with the prologue and will be very eager to read the rest of the novel.
