It has been almost a decade since I've picked up a Cassandra Clare book. I have to admit, City of Bones is all I've ever read from her and I was far from impressed. I wrote her off as not-for-me and moved along my merry way. However, I can tell from this chapter sampler that she's improved heaps and bounds. Maybe just maybe I'll have to give her a second chance some time in the near future.
