I have always been a fan of Cassandra Clare's Shadowhunter chronicles, so reading this excerpt of her next installment invoked both excitement for a new story, as well as nostalgia for the characters and spectacular world I hold very dear to my heart. This is the first excerpt I have read so far for Chain of Gold, and I have already fallen in love with our main protagonists. Cassie writes with such detail and emotion that the voices of James, Lucie, and Cordelia leap right off of the page. The bickering between James and his friends had me smiling, because it's all so familiar and fun. I'm also excited for the love triangles and squares that seem to already be afoot in this small excerpt. If there's anything else I love from Cassie's stories, it's her angsty romances. March cannot come fast enough! The cover of this novel is probably one of my favorites of all of hers, and makes me think of autumn. I'm so excited for this release!
