I haven't read anything by Cassandra Clare before, though I've had City of Bones on my TBR cart for basically years. After reading this excerpt, I'm EXCEEDINGLY glad she's got such an extensive backlist, because clearly I've been missing out. I can't wait to read more of this book - it's so evocatively written and I need more of this world and these characters. Thankfully, I don't need to be entirely on pins and needles because I can pop over and read one of the other series she's completed set in this same world to tide me over while I wait for the gloriousness that is Chain of Gold!
