I've been a fan of Cassandra Clare's books for years (and have had this one on my TBR since 2013). I am excited to read a new series from her that takes place in the past. I'm not sure how I feel about the excerpt. The first chapter drew me in and made me curious about Lucie, and I am also curious about James' abilities. There are a lot of characters introduced in the excerpt with made me feel a little lost but that would likely fade further into the book. The excerpt isn't clear what the focus of the whole book, and this new series, will be, but I do look forward to reading it!
