Cassandra Clare is a brilliant author and has created such a fantastic world. First, this cover, like all her covers, is beyond stunning. The colors are vibrant and the image really sets the tone for the story. We are introduced to Lucie first and readers are able to connect to her through her description of the world she lives in. After that introduction to the world, we meet James and Matthew and they are in the middle of a battle. Clare does a masterful job of immersing the reader into the story instantly.
