I usually don't read fantasy books. Somehow, I cannot connect with that kind of world. Mythology or some epic fantasy yes, but anything like this book, never.
I wanted to start this one, perhaps because I've read about an author. And I was sooo curious. It was half an hour glad-to-tried-it (well) spent. Didn't regret. But...
The style of writing I didn't like. Very shallow and report-like. Fact after fact after fact. Didn't feel the mystery. Didn't "see" the fairytale world.
I'm glad that I tried, so it proved to me that it's not the genre I will pursue. Or it was just the style of writing that put me off. Thank you.
