Yet another use of the cliche where someone inherits something almost magical from a relative they haven't met. The write-up of the novel telegraphs what is going to happen in the book and it doesn't move me to read it. The first look evens back it up as she is a woman busy with her career in New York and hasn't gotten married to the man she has been engaged to for five years.
