I like the author's style of writing, but not interested in the story itself

Although I appreciate the author's style of writing, from what I gather in the first look- I'm not actually familiar with this author- I am not interested in the plot of the book, so I have no overall interest in reading Carolina Moonset in its entirety. On another note, I also don't like the cover although that's not a huge deal. It wouldn't grab my attention though if I was seeing it in a store.
