I’d read the book if I found it on the library shelf

I typically prefer books by female authors with female protagonists, because they generally have more realistic emotional connections. Right out of the gate this book nails it with the emotional hook and a good dose of eloquent descriptiveness that doesn’t weigh the story down but keeps the pace moving. Add some mystery - as promised - and it should be a recipe for a great read.
