There's a lot of imagery in the book based on the first impression I read. Because it's set in the south, it actually attracts rather than distracts as often occurs. The characters were believable and the atmosphere felt thick. The cover is distracting but I'm not one to judge a book by it's cover. The first impression read was intriguing enough to ensure I'd read the book and I can't wait for more.
