The First Look of Carolina Moonset by Matt Goldman captured my attention almost immediately. I liked Joey Green and his familial memories. I felt for his parents, his likable dad suffering with advancing Alzheimer’s Disease and his devoted mom, rapidly aging from the stress of caregiving. Although the dad’s short term memory is basically nonexistent, long term remembrances have remained in tact, but emotions are coming to the surface and his dad’s illness may be the catalyst to uncover truths of secrets thought to be long buried.
