I loved the humor intwined with the opening scene and the characters back story to "That's when I learned I could not trust family." It had me cracking up! But the humor turned to sadness seeing the main character's fathers demonstrating signs of dementia. I think family ties will have a deep pull within this story. The writing is smooth and contains a hint of comedic relief among heavier topics which I think will serve it well.
