Cape May is the debut novel by Chip Cheek, and what a stunner! I won a copy from a Goodreads giveaway, and began reading right away. The story begins with Effie and Henry, from Georgia, arriving in Cape May on their honeymoon, set in the 1950's. Although it is the off season, they encounter neighbors and are drawn into parties with a lot of drinking and sexual situations. The events that occur change their marriage. It's an end to innocence, a real eye-opener for the young couple. I wasn't sure what to expect when I began to read Cape May, but was pleasantly surprised. It was definitely a page turner, and I sped through it. Definitely for mature audiences and not recommended for anyone that doesn't like sex scenes.
