When I first say down to read this book, I was instantly drawn by the setting as I used to live around Cape May. While reading the pages I felt like I was transported back to not only the Cape May I knew but also of one I didn’t (the Cape May of decades before). I felt the author definitely excelled at portraying an accurate description of a real life place. One of my favorite things about this book was that it somehow gave me The Great Gatsby vibes. The characters were also very complexed and very fleshed out, wistful, full of desire and self-contradictions. Perhaps the only I disliked was the ending as I felt the flash forward happened so quickly and I was still processing the explosive climax that occurred.
