Cape May is set in the 50's, and a perfect time period for this book since it was about the social and sexual mores of that time and dealing with innocence and hedonism. The main characters are a newlywed couple named Henry and Effie who honeymoon in Cape May.
I thought is was going to be just another love story, but I was sure mistaken. It turned into whirlwind of parties and sexual escapades when they meet neighbors Clara and Max, who bring in other New York friends, and Georgia natives Henry and Effie are immersed in maybe more than they can handle.... and the story ride begins.
There are places in the book that seem redundant, and some of the characters could have had more development.....that being said, I was hooked to find out what happens and could not put this book down.
