So, they're both virgins who got married, and have their honeymoon set in an abandoned town?

I find it funny knowing that they might have waited a long time for their first night together, and guess what the woman, Effie, had to say minutes after they're done doing it:

“Well, I guess we’ve done it, then.”

Damn Effie, you know how to make a man special! LOL

Since they are newlyweds and since it's 1957, the idea of "moving in" or "living in together" before marriage hasn't been encouraged yet, so the experience of them being together for the first time gave them a lot of excitement, thrill and mixed emotions such since there are times they encounter idle moments where one of them is quiet or they can go through the day without talking with each other, also the feeling of contentment is still questionable, such as Henry had to wait for Effie to sleep first before he can go to the washroom to do his thing.

The pacing is too fast which I really like, it's not boring and it really is unputdownable. Although for the first two chapters, I'm still having difficulties getting attached to the characters but hopefully when I read the book, I get to know more about the characters and their personality, what drives and moves them, what are their secrets and temptations and how they were able to overcome those challenges as a couple and as an individual.
