In order to enjoy a book, I need to feel a connection to some of the characters. From what I have read so far, I can’t say that I really have enough concern or liking for any of the characters to want to continue reading the book.
I’m sure Clara and Richard will end up doing and saying things to humiliate Effie, and Henry will continue acting foolish. There will possibly be some sexual adventures between various characters. I’m not curious enough to want to read on. I’m sure there will be others who will want to read this book. It just doesn’t appeal to me.
