Don't let the relatively placid cover fool you. Cape May is an eye-opening coming-of-age story in which two young newlyweds (innocents) are introduced to a way of life that changes their lives in ways they never knew before.
Effie and Henry (ages 18 and 20 respectively) have just been married and are honeymooning in Cape May where, as a child, Effie vacationed with a beloved Aunt Lizzie. Arriving there in September, however, the couple discover an all but abandoned town instead of the rollicking place of Effie's memories. Before calling it quits and returning home, the two young people notice a house with people a few doors down and decide to introduce themselves. Surprised and troubled by the woman who greets them at the door, Effie and Henry are soon swept up by the group and will soon be lead into something that they're definitely NOT ready for.

This is a definite page-turner, and I cannot wait to read Cape May straight through!!
