Effie and Henry are newly married and decide to visit a family summer home that Effie used to visit as a child. They spend this time getting acquainted with each other but feeling awkward because the town is almost abandoned. On one of their last days they run into an acquaintance of Effie's from her childhood visits. The references to sex are very casual, the relationship is new and awkward and the neighbors are larger than life and gregarious. It's hard to pin down how I feel about this book from the preview.
