Call of the Raven by Wilbur Smith and Corban Addison is about a plantation owner’s son (Mungo St. John) that returns home after the death of his father to find his world falling apart. The family lawyer swindled his father and bankrupt him out of his birthright and is now the new owner of his family’s plantation. The woman he loves, a slave named Camilla, was sold to a Chester Marion. However, Mungo has many obstacles ahead that change him from merely being smug and arrogant into doing horrible things in the name of revenge before he hopes to be reunited with Camilla, which sadly never happened. Love, greed and revenge and the choices of various paths people take when life tests their character is the cornerstone of this novel.
