So far, I think Mungo is turning out to be a rich, complex character that made me laugh out loud and cringe with disapproval. The writing in this book is really solid, with great descriptions, and I was definitely engaged with the text. I think the cover is striking and dark. I would read more to see where Mungo's life takes him and whether he's telling the truth about his father's plantation.
