Call of the Raven is a prequel to A Falcon Flies. While I haven't read the other books, these first pages were interesting and captivating.
Mungo St. John comes out as a very complex character, split among the different ideals that prevailed in the world at the time. Chester Marion is adequately evil and slimy, just as I like my villains.
