I enjoy historical fiction and have read a number of books about the days of slavery in America. Some of the books have been more intense and highlighted the cruel aspects of slavery more than others. Chester is someone who seems to delight in violence and showing dominance over others. The reader certainly has cause to fear for Camillia and what will happen to her until Mungo somehow gets free to help her. This would be a very intense book to read.
