The cover for Call of the Raven let’s you know right off the bat that this read is probably going to be an intense one. I would have to agree with the cover, because the first look was intense and uncomfortable for me. It’s extremely well written, and I was turning pages non-stop during the debate portion of the first chapter, but the subject matter does make me personally uncomfortable. I think if you enjoy historical fiction set in the time period where the slave trade was ending, but slavery was very much still happening, then you may enjoy this one. As I said, it was extremely well written, so I may have to check out this authors other work if it has a plot outside of racism/slavery.
