This first impression was just ok. Not great, not terrible, just average. Our main character, Mungo, is called home to his Virginia plantation home from England because his father has just died, leaving the plantation for foreclosure. Mungo goes back to find and help his father's slaves, especially Camila. The villain is an evil, greedy lawyer, which is a trope I am sick of seeing.
