I've read two Austen re-imaginings in the past couple of months. The first was so awful, I couldn't decide if I should laugh or cry. The second was adequate, but needed less emphasis on Austen and more on the actual plot of the book. But this one? BY THE BOOK begins with a bang that has me actually wanting to read the book. I'm so excited that it's a reimagining of PERSUASION and I can't wait to read the full novel.
