First of all, I am a sucker for a good love story. And if that love story happens to be one where the protagonist has a chance to reclaim the "one that got away", then count me in!
I liked Anne from the very beginning. If we'd gone to school together, we would have been besties. I had once envisioned myself as single, teaching, and most importantly- surrounded by books. By myself.
And Adam sounds to die for. Sensitive and attractive? A lover of literature? Wonderful combination! I am dying to find out what happened to Anne and Adam's relationship.
Why did they break up? Who poisoned Anne and made her change into someone willing to lose a guy like Adam? And why was he so cold to her at the reception? Was it because of the breakup? Probably. But did he really not recognize her? I find that hard to believe.
Sad as it sounds, I've never read Austen's Persuasion but now I want to.
