This is well outside of what I usually read but thought I'd check out the excerpt. I liked the sample quite a bit, actually. The writing was sharp and I enjoyed getting to know the protagonist. Anne was a character I wouldn't mind following for an entire novel. I have not read Persuasion, so hard for me to see the parallels between the two. Based off the writing, I'd have no problem reading this in its entirety. But with an already large reading list, I didn't love it enough that I'd plan to read it anytime soon. However, if this is in your wheelhouse, the plot is set up nicely and backed up by some quality writing, and one I'm sure many will enjoy.
