I love a good modern retelling of a classic story, and By the Book seems like it is going to fabulous; I flew through the sample of this one. I read Eligible (a modern retelling of Pride and Prejudice) and I loved that one, and how there was such delightful humor in it. I think By the Book will be along the same fashion as well. I haven't actually read the original book this is based off of (Persuasion by Jane Austen) unfortunately, but this excerpt was so good that I have to read the entire book (and hopefully go back and read the original telling of this great story).
Random thought, will there be a wine glass emoji in the actual book?! That was a nice touch. I also loved the "emails" that are in the sample, also a nice touch and left me wanting to find out how the story is going to end.
Also, I am completely in love with the cover of this book, it's beautiful.
