I love a good crime novel. This one took a while to get going though. It spent alot of time focused on a subplot with the main characters family that ended up just being tedious and dragging the story down for a bit. The subplot led to some interesting character development but not enough that I felt like it made up for the slow take off of the book.

The author is British which makes some of the slang and word choices strange but you get used to it pretty quickly. She also changes character point of views very often and not with much warning. Again once you are used to it, it is fine but it can be jarring if you are not paying attention.

The last couple chapters of the book fly by compared to the beginning. They do a great job blurring the line between right and wrong. You just have to make it through the first half to get to the great conclusion.
