Lynda La Plante does it again!
The is the first book in the DC Jack Warr series by Lynda La Plante, but it also continues the Dolly Rawlins series. A remote cottage burns and a burned body is found inside along with some burned cash from a heist committed years before by Dolly Rawlins and her widow friends. Jack Warr helps to investigate the arson/murder, but he also has a personal interest in the case. He is trying to find out who his biological father is and he believes his father may have had a connection with others who were involved with previous heists. I enjoyed this book, but I’m glad that I read the three previous Dolly Rawlins books. I think you can enjoy this book without having read the previous books, but knowing the characters from the other books is definitely an advantage. I look forward to reading more about DC Jack Warr.
