This book kept me turning pages. It started out with a burnt out cottage and a body burnt beyond recognition. As Detective Warr's investigation progresses a connection is made with a unsolved crime from 1995. Then a possible connection to a case in 1984. Certain names keep popping up and several have significance within law enforcement circles. Certain ones raise suspicion with Detective Warr and Ridley, his boss.
Also in a subplot Detective Warr who was adopted searches for his birth father. I liked how that turned out and loved the ending except for what happened to Charlie. Since this is supposed to be the first book of a new series from the author. I'm looking forward to the next book.
