This is the second book I have read from this author and I am enthralled with her writing. This book was just as good as the first. In this book, Jack has moved to London with his girlfriend Maggie and is a new detective to the force. His higher up wants to promote him, but only if he can show enthusiasm and show that he wants to advance after his many years as a detective. At the same time, his adopted father finds out he is dying and he is given information about who his parents are. The case that he is working has started to blend with the information that he was given by his dad and it all ties into the train robbery from the last book of the widows series. I can really tell that I am going to love this new series and cannot wait to see Jack develop and grow into the man and detective he wants to be. Thanks for the ARC, Net Galley.
