From what I read so far I am intrigued. I like the set up and pace. I was also pulled in by the connection between Sally and Preston. I enjoyed reading them. I would like to know more about these characters and see how they develop.
So far I like the writing style, beginning with what looked like a flashback. And that flashback - a meeting of ex-convicts ready to share something is what grabbed me from the beginning. Starting the first chapter with action drew me in more. I liked the way the author described the setting, it wasn’t too long winded or unnecessarily overdone. It gave a good feel of the surroundings involved.
I have never read this author before but I am definitely looking forward to reading what she has to offer.
