Expertly plotted tale
This was an expertly plotted tale. The flow was easy to follow as the author switched between past and present. I enjoyed following the clues with the investigators and did not see who the murderer was. I also enjoyed how Jack’s personal life ended up entwined with the case in this book. It made it feel less like a second story line through in to add filler and more like the author had actually thought about how life works out that way sometimes. The characters were interesting and complex. I especially loved the group of women. They were characters that I was almost rooting for. The writing was excellent. I felt like I was right there in England and I have sadly never visited England. I am looking forward to the rest of the books in this series.
