I really loved the first couple of chapters of Buried, but then was a little confused because the character point of views weren't brought up again in the book. The rest of the book was from the viewpoint of a completely different character. I liked Jack (the main character) alright, until I didn't. He became the biggest jerk and I ended up really kind of hating him by the end of the book. The story and the mystery were really interesting and appropriately intricate. I found myself rooting for the criminals more than the police. I got the feeling that this book was written more for tv than for the sake of being a novel (I believe the author is actually in the process of writing a script for this to go to tv). All in all, a little disappointing for me, but if you like gritty detective books, this might be the book for you.
