Too much telling, but an interesting premise

So the first thing I will say it that the book itself has an interesting story line following a group of police (with many shifts in perspective) investigate first what is believed to be arson (a house fire) that end ups being considered also a murder and a robbery. The issue I take with it is that it almost seems like a screenplay describing what we should be seeing in the cop drama and so there is just a ton of description. Instead of feeling intrigued by the case, I was more annoyed at the amount of information being imparted and the way this information was presented. Overall it seems unlikely that I would enjoy reading this book, but I do think that quality characterization starts picking up towards the end of the chapter. I think perhaps I might enjoy it more with another chapter preview to see how it proceeds but with this introduction, I find the style is not to my taste and is lacking that it factor that would make me really care about the case or solving the crime.
