The prologue was written so well - a hint of mysterious menace hanging in the air. The way it ended was just enough to whet my curiosity and read on. The pages before Jack's appearance, there was a lull. I was thinking the prologue maybe was just the best thing about the book. And then we get introduced to Jack, a slightly sketchy character for a detective. I am curious as to how he would navigate the investigation. He sounds talented and skilled enough for the job but his lack of passion is a drawback. It will be a very interesting read how the author would write the rest of how the case is solved!
