Admittedly, I'm picky when it comes to thrillers. I read a lot of reviews (spoiler free, mostly) about a thriller before I'll pick it up. The idea of this one doesn't sound bad, but it doesn't sound terribly memorable either. I read the prologue first and thought - "yawn". Some of the sentences are overly trite. I felt this was trying to set up an old Hollywood black and white who-dun-it but with a 1994 time stamp. The current day section felt better written though. This probably won't be the book for me.
