gather round, ye crime fiction fans...
I am not a fan of prologues, although in crime fiction and thrillers they are sometimes necessary to set things in motion-and here is no exception. I am immediately drawn in, feeling all of the women round that table, wondering what exactly is up. Wanting to see where this all leads. Perfection.
Then, BOOM! Lynda hits me with a fire. A delicious description of a cottage consuming itself in flames, only to discover a body under the pilings on the sofa. WOW.
I love the interactions and relationships here as well. I can't wait to see how these strings all tie together, and what they will mean to each other by book's end.
And most of all-does the writing on the wall have anything to do with THAT body...or is it something else. Keep me guessing Lynda, it's what you do best.
