This is my first Jodi Thomas novel, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The story is told from 4 character's perspectives and takes place over the course of a week. I liked that we got glimpses into the different character's minds rather than it being told from one perspective as we got to understand their backstory and motivations while also seeing how they interacted with each other.

The mystery element of the book is important, but the story was more focused on the character's lives and how they fit into the town. Pecos' story line was the most interesting to me and pretty sad. He was a really sweet character though. I also really liked the minor characters in the story like Gabe and Daily.

Overall, this was a read where you fall in love with the characters. I read it in one day and can't wait revisit Honey Creek in the next book.
