The beginning seemed a bit slow with lots of description and verbiage, but I eventually became interested in the characters, and in particular in how Piper was going to get herself out of this predicament, without knowing yet what had happened to the so-called boyfriend/fiance. I felt that she was not as self-assured as she tried to convince herself that she was, was too concerned about her reputation in the town, and was going to fall prey to one of the two handsome, intriguing men that have now entered into her life -- in one way or the other. I am anxious to find out how all of this plays out. I also loved the cover of the book as it looks like my dream retirement home. I can pretty much picture the flower garden that I would plant around this house. I also currently live in Texas so would love to go in search of Honey Creek! I am rooting for the detective, rather than the preacher. I need to know how this turns out as I am a sucker for a good love story!
